Thanks to an Awards for All grant and fundraising, the Club owns the following equipment
Sanyo PLV-
7ft wide tripod screen
12ft wide easi-
16mm Bell Projector
DVD player
Sony sound system + speakers
The Club recognises the importance of this equipment to North Berwick and has on occasion made the equipment available to various groups in the town. The Club often stages special film shows for other organisations.
The Club has also been involved in staging film shows at residential homes and local schools. Such shows are always warmly received. The Club is prepared to consider all requests for assistance in presentations etc but can not guarantee that the equipment will be made available. Each request is considered separately and often depends upon a Club member being available to operate the equipment.
This is an area of Club activities which we would like to develop but often needs volunteers who are prepared to operate the equipment.
The Club is eager to give people, who show an interest in this activity, the necessary training to operate the Club equipment.
By far the most ambitious events to date have been the three outdoor film events each of which were screened to over a thousand people at North Berwick harbour.
The first event in 2001 was supported by the Lottery Fund and the film was “Singing in the Rain”
Further events in 2002 and 2004 screened “Grease” and “Shrek 2”
These events require substantial organisation and financing
